The Thoroughbred Racing Board has accepted a proposal for a much-needed upgrading of medical facilities at NSW country racetracks.
Trauma management/first aid courses will be held at numerous country centres in the coming months, and successful applicants will be accredited for three years.
``It's a way of providing better medical facilities, especially at country centres, and comes under the safety umbrella," TRB chief steward Ray Murrihy said.
Meanwhile, trainer Grahame Norman has appealed against a four-month suspension imposed by TRB stewards. His appeal will be heard on Friday, March 26.
